Pilgrims Europe are looking for a Driver Supervisor to oversee our Newark Hatchery driver team, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient transport operations in all aspects of Driver Management, maintenance and compliance. This role is primarily a Monday to Friday shift pattern, typically working the hours of 07:30 - 16:00, however flexibility will be required for hours to extend beyond this as needed in line with operational requirements. Please note, fulfilling the role of a Hatchery LGV Driver will be required on an ad-hoc basis, which would typically be a Sunday.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach and develop a team of drivers
- Manage driver compliance, training and transport legislation
- Plan cost-effective and efficient transport routes
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and minimise downtime
- Support driver welfare, recruitment and performance management
- Step in as a driver when operationally required
- Fulfil the role of a Hatchery LGV Driver as and when required to maintain efficiency (typically on a Sunday)
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours and working time regulations
- Category C+E Driving Licence (Essential)
- CPC Transport Manager Trained (Desirable)
- City and Guilds Welfare of Animals during Transport Certificate (Essential)
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
