The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

The primary focus will be to assist, as a member of a small team, in the continued development of a strong internal and external supply chain, acting as the first 'technical' point of call for suppliers, internal sites and support in any customer queries or audits. Ensuring the integrity, suitability and quality (compliance with specification) of the day-to-day deliveries of all materials being supplied into the Pilgrims Europe business in the UK, NI and ROI. Specific areas of responsibility may include ingredients and/or meat, as well as the necessary due diligence and compliance, to ensure that all required systems are up to date. Drive ongoing improvement in supplier approval and maintenance, supporting internal team members and external suppliers on that journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a small team, managing workload and SMART KPIs.
  • Own the supplier approval process, including risk assessments, audits, performance monitoring and corrective actions.
  • Identify and manage supply chain vulnerabilities through material risk assessments and testing.
  • Ensure suppliers understand specifications, compliance requirements and maintain accurate data in Smile/Foods Connected.
  • Support manufacturing sites with supplier performance insight, audit requests and non-conformance management.
  • Maintain and improve systems (BRCGS, Customer COPs, SAP, Smile, Foods Connected) and provide clear KPI reporting.
  • Support raw material specifications to ensure processes are robust.
  • Collaborate with Technical, Procurement, Food Development and site teams to enhance supplier capability.

About You

Essential: Food-related qualification or relevant technical experience. Experience with ingredient specifications and understanding of food legislation/retailer requirements. VACCP knowledge, strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Confident influencing, coaching and challenging positively. IT-competent (Office 365, Smile, Foods Connected).

Desirable: Degree in Food Science. HACCP Level 4. Experience with auditors, suppliers and customers. Broad food industry experience and strong supplier relationship skills.
