We have exciting opportunities for Butchers to join our team at Pilgrim's Europe - Corsham site. Successful candidates will be required to work in our Butchery Department. Our ideal candidate will be keen to learn new skills, focused and driven. We are looking to invest in people, providing role-specific training to progress enthusiastic candidates up through the business.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Behave in an approachable and professional manner at all times
- Responsible for individual quality standards of products produced
- Work to yield and quality standards at all times
- Take particular care in keeping our food products safe and free from foreign bodies
- Willing and able to operate in all areas of the department
- Willing to undergo training to better support the department
- Adhere to site and department specific SOP’s and SSOW
- Carry out a range of tasks as deemed reasonable by the management team
- Maintain a positive, proactive, flexible approach to all aspects of the job
- Be open to working in other departments with comparative skill requirements
- The job holder has a responsibility to maintain a culture of awareness of, and commitment to the highest standards of quality & food safety and must lead by example and report any risks/concerns to Technical immediately.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a food production environment is desirable
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and a recognised qualification/certificate of competence in butchery/meat processing (e.g. NVQ)
- Ability to demonstrate knife skills for the skilled roles, or willingness to learn in semi-skilled/trainee roles
- Good communication
- Ability to work on own initiative whilst working as part of a team, striving to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
