We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team and take ownership of site engineering, maintenance, and infrastructure. This is a key role driving performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and develop Engineering & Maintenance teams, plus external contractors
- Drive site‑wide engineering strategy, including capital investment planning
- Deliver engineering projects to time, cost, and quality targets
- Ensure full compliance with H&S, legislative requirements, and audit standards
- Oversee asset performance, maintenance systems, and reliability improvements
- Manage departmental budgets and identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Champion continuous improvement, lean initiatives, and root cause analysis
- Implement robust PPM/CMMS systems and improve equipment reliability (MTBF)
- Build strong contractor relationships and ensure best value delivery
- Develop team capability, succession plans, and apprenticeship programmes
Essential Criteria
- Proven Engineering Management experience within food manufacturing
- Strong track record leading large, multi‑skilled engineering teams
- Experience delivering capital projects and investment plans
- In‑depth knowledge of H&S, compliance, and engineering legislation
- Experience managing PPM/CMMS systems
- Strong financial and budget management experience
- Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
Desirable
- Food Safety Level 3
- HACCP Level 3
- Continuous improvement / lean experience
