Driver terms and conditions:
- To ensure the safe operation of trailers around site, to supply departments with the relevant vehicles to load & unload in a timely manner.
- Principal Objectives:
- To adhere strictly to all Hygiene, Health and Safety requirements and maintain safe working practices, with particular regard to Lifting and Handling Techniques.
- To be ready at the start of shift, to carry out specified checks in an accurate, timely and methodical manner, causing the minimum of delay or disruption to the production process.
- To record all information generated throughout the shift on the appropriate sheets, accurately and legibly.
- Be prepared to undertake other reasonable duties at the request of management.
- To take instruction from relevant departments for site trailer movements and to move them in a safe/efficient & timely manner.
- To ensure refrigeration units are operating correctly, within specification and are maintained with fuel at all times.
- To keep records of fuel used.
- To be self-sufficient & knowledgeable of a timetable of site movements.
- To ensure all trailers are fitted with Susie locks when trailers are presented to loading bays and the safe loading procedure is followed.
MEASURABLE OUTPUTS:
- Ensure all paperwork and safety start-up checks are completed on time and accurately.
- Escalation of problems/issues to Traffic controllers.
HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand the Moy Park Health and Safety Policy, Company Safety Rules and Statutory requirements applying to all operations under your control.
- Ensure that the arrangements made by the Company to secure the Health and Safety of employees are implemented.
- Continually seek to develop safe practices and safe systems of work and ensure these are put into practice.
- Set an example in safe considerate behaviour.
- Any defect must immediately be reported and if it is felt, in consultation with your immediate Manager, that there is a risk of imminent danger, then the machine will not be used until repairs have been carried out.
- Ensure that you wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment, which is in a serviceable condition.
- Ensure you are familiar with the routine in case of fire or other emergency that might require evacuation of the workplace.
- Ensure that good housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained throughout your area/s of responsibility.
- Not to use mobile communications whilst operating a vehicle unless connected by Bluetooth and it is safe to do so.
- Any employee breaching employee health and safety responsibilities will be liable for investigation which may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Company’s disciplinary policy.
