Are you an experienced poultry professional with a passion for animal welfare, team leadership, and farm performance? We are seeking a dedicated Broiler Farm Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of a modern broiler farm on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on individual looking to lead a high-performing team while ensuring the highest standards of bird welfare, health and safety, and operational excellence.

As Broiler Farm Manager, you will oversee all aspects of broiler production, ensuring birds are reared to the highest standards and meet required specifications for quality, welfare, and performance. You will be responsible for both the operational and commercial success of the farm, while also developing and supporting your team. This role is a 5 from 7 shift pattern, with a sixth day as required by the needs of the business, covering 48 hours a week. A driving licence is essential; however, a company van would be provided subject to licence checks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day broiler farm operations and husbandry activities.
  • Monitor and control ventilation, heating, feeding, watering, and lighting systems to maintain optimal growing conditions.
  • Ensure the highest standards of bird welfare, biosecurity, and hygiene are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain accurate farm records relating to bird performance, feed, suppliers, and stock management.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments to communicate bird weights, stock numbers, and production information.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a small farm team through coaching, training, and regular performance reviews.
  • Champion health and safety practices for all employees, visitors, and contractors on site.
  • Take responsibility for farm security and estate management activities.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact through waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable farming practices.
  • Ensure the farm consistently operates within agreed financial and physical budgets.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous broiler farm management experience.
  • Experience working within the poultry or agricultural sector.
  • Strong people management and leadership capabilities.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to undertake further professional development and qualifications, including NVQs.
