The Vacancy We are currently recruiting for a Production Chargehand to join our operations team at Pilgrim's Europe - Craigavon.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading a team of operatives, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained across all production areas.
Working
Hours: Monday to Friday,08:00am - 16:00pm Key Responsibilities Operate at all times to the highest attainable safety standards and promote a safety-conscious culture among staff.
Support and assist the Area Manager in achieving departmental objectives.
Supervise, develop, and motivate staff to reach their full potential.
Organise and allocate daily work to meet production plans efficiently.
Ensure materials and ingredients are available and handled correctly.
Maintain company standards in hygiene, quality, and food safety.
Monitor and maintain equipment performance, escalating any breakdowns promptly.
Promote continuous improvement and adherence to operational procedures.
Support training and development of new and existing employees.
Maintain clear communication between production, engineering, and quality departments.
Skills, Competencies, and Experience Required Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven organisational skills and experience managing a medium to large team.
Good computer literacy and numeracy skills.
Basic food hygiene knowledge.
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experience of customer visits and data recording.
Physical & Environmental Conditions This role is based primarily within a chilled factory environment and involves standing for extended periods.
Adherence to all site safety, hygiene, and health procedures is essential.
