We are currently recruiting for a Hatchery Operative based at our Ballymena Hatcheries - The position could be based at either Woodside Road Hatchery, Raceview Road Hatchery or both Hatcheries. As a Hatchery Operative you will be a member of a team of hatchery operatives, reporting to the management team. Effective liaison, team working and interaction with other operatives and supervisory staff is essential.
The job is performed mainly in a comfortable hatchery environment and involves extensive periods standing. The employee is required to operate effectively; processing, packing, boxing, labelling and counting product as required. It is imperative that the employee is aware of health and safety regulations and adheres to them.
The hours of work are:
- Woodside Road Hatchery Tuesday to Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm, and Saturday 6am-1:30pm.
- Raceview Road Hatchery Monday to Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm with exception of a Wednesday where the finish time is 2:30pm.
Essential
- Must be literate and numerate.
- Must be able to think clearly.
- Must be able to work as a team member.
- Must have a positive attitude to work and others.
- Good manual dexterity is essential.
- Good communication skills are desirable.
- The ability to work on own initiative and learn new skills is desirable.
- Previous hatchery and/or production and/or livestock and/or cleaning experience is desirable.
- Evidence of mechanical aptitude is desirable.
