The Job of a Lorry Driver in Ballymena involves transporting raw materials between sites, and delivering them safely and soundly to various sites. The Lorry Driver works as part of a team of people and independently reporting directly to the Transport Manager.

Hours of work:

  • Sunday 22:00-06:00
  • Monday 22:00-06:00
  • Tuesday 22:00-06:00
  • Wednesday 22:00-06:00
  • Thursday 22:00-06:00

Essential

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and listen in English
  • Must be able to think clearly e.g. good reasoning ability
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must have an awareness of hygiene and quality issues
  • Must have a positive attitude to work and others
  • Must have a HGV class 1 licence
  • Lorry driving experience is desirable
  • Electric Pallet Truck/Forklift/ Reach Truck licence is desirable
  • Experience transporting food/food products is desirable
  • Evidence of ability to complete and understand paperwork is desirable
  • Knowledge of the importance of temperature control desirable
  • Good communication skills desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of hygiene, cleanliness and simple maintenance desirable
  • Digital Tachograph experience desirable
  • The ability to work on own initiative is desirable
  • Good interpersonal skills are desirable
