Purpose of the Role
To maintain electrical systems and components for various applications across the site, ensuring our electrical control panels and systems are working efficiently and reliably for our site Production operations team, while adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- To deliver electrical system projects for Site Continuous Improvement, taking into account the specific requirements, standards, and regulations. This includes working with approved suppliers for system layouts, upgrading circuit diagrams, and selecting appropriate components, as well as control panel upgrades.
- To provide effective electrical support to Shift Engineering staff and breakdown cover to the production department.
- To fault find and repair any electrical faults that require your electrical and PLC expertise.
- To evaluate and recommend machine modifications and component upgrades to work with approved suppliers to provide control panels to UK legislation.
- To ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, producing product according to the specification.
- To conduct tests and inspections to ensure the functionality, reliability, and safety of electrical systems.
- If any issues or malfunctions arise, troubleshoot and diagnose problems, implementing corrective measures.
- To ensure that electrical systems adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations, and are in line with company Electrical Policy.
- To oversee the integration of electrical systems with other systems or components, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation.
Skills & Experience Required
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent (electrical)
- Time served electrical engineer, HNC/HND in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- High level knowledge of the PLC and automation systems (Allen Bradley & Siemens)
- 18th Edition Qualified
