We are currently looking for a talented Technical Coordinator to join our team at Westerleigh, supporting Technical Manager ensuring food safety, quality and compliance with standards throughout production process. This role involves a range of responsibilities, from managing technical documentation and audits to coordinating with various teams and suppliers, and even investigating complaints.
Shift pattern:
Monday β Friday β 37.5 hrs/p
Key Responsibilities:
- To work collaboratively with the Site Technical Manager and the Quality Systems Manager in implementation of systems at factory level to drive continuous improvement.
- To monitor and maintain product quality through inspection and auditing of the entire production process.
- To support all operations in improving standards through relevant internal audits, associated training and corrective actions within the scope of their role.
- There will be on occasion a requirement to have contact with representatives of outside organisations including customers, suppliers and enforcing authorities such as EHO, TSO.
- To work to and maintain all aspects of the Quality System as set by the Site Technical Manager and customer requirements.
- To continuously improve standards, monitoring hygiene, quality and food safety on a daily basis
- To record and manage daily incidents and strive to improve occurrence by correct implementation of HACCP, GMP and hygiene
- To identify an appropriate level of pest control to maintain the integrity of product safety and minimise the risk of pest contamination to product and premises
- To maintain knowledge of all products and ensure all raw materials used in those products comply with the requirements of the QAS. To ensure deviations from the process / finished product specification are investigated and necessary corrective actions are taken
- To assist with all customer visits and third party audits and to actively support the Site Technical Team as required
Skills & Knowledge:
- Must have a good level of English literacy and numeracy. Attention to detail is essential and a conscientious nature to ensure all tasks are completed. It is a must to be able to write clearly and legibly in English
- Internal Auditing experience and knowledge- desirable
- Knowledge of key legislation relating to the food industry with a foundation/ intermediate level qualification in food safety and HACCP
- Organised and able to work to tight deadlines
- Demonstrate exceptional GMP standards to achieve high quality products
- Minimise safety hazards to provide a safe working environment
