Job Overview: Within our Butchery Department we are looking for talented people to join our team as a skilled butcher cutting, trimming & deboning pork shoulders, legs and middles. Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have previous knife experience gained from working in a butchery environment during an initial skills test.

Contract and Working Hours:

  • Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent/Direct.
  • Shift: Monday to Friday.
  • Hours: 06:30 - 16:00, including 2 breaks (42.5 hours guaranteed).
  • Voluntary overtime & weekend hours paid at premium rates.
  • Additional productivity bonus may apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Cut, bone and trim pork meat.
  • Remove bones, excess fat, gristle, and bruises to meet specific, high-quality or lean product requirements.
  • Accurately cut and weigh meat to meet predetermined weight and size specifications.
  • Ensure product is processed according to customer specifications.
  • Ensure work is carried out to the best of your abilities to meet production deadlines.
  • Safely operate machinery, including band saws, circular saws, and derinders.
  • Use knives safely and efficiently.
  • Comply with company policies, health and safety and food safety standards at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned necessary to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a pork butcher or meat processor in food manufacturing.
  • Manual handling skills.
  • Advanced knife handling skills.
