This role is an integral part of the Poultry GB site Finance team supporting the Site Accountant and Finance Manager.

To provide support to the finance department in the delivery of a high-quality professional management accounting and product costing service in accordance with financial regulations, group policies, procedures and best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • To support the Site Accountant with the preparation of weekly and monthly management accounts.
  • To take responsibility for sections of the P&L and prepare reporting of variances against standard and budget within the normal reporting deadlines.
  • To take responsibility for sections of the Balance Sheet, ensuring the financial integrity of the numbers through regular review and month end balance sheet reconciliation.
  • To report key performance indicators and other operations data to the U.S.
  • To ensure site capital expenditure is analysed and capital additions updated to the asset register on a timely basis.
  • To review weekly stocks for quantity and price and identify the financial impact of any errors.
  • Provide feedback to the relevant operations staff to improve financial controls.
  • To assist with creating & amending Bill of materials when required.
  • To work with the Site Accountant and other Assistant Accountant on a day-to-day basis and provide holiday/exam cover as required.
  • To provide support to the overhead reporting and control process.
  • To constantly review and evaluate routine processes with a view to eliminating all non-value adding tasks.
  • To complete any additional ad hoc duties as required.

  • Meeting target deadlines for weekly accounts and other financial report submission times.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Part Qualified, AAT/ relevant degree or qualified by experience with a sound technical financial understanding.
  • Advanced IT skills particularly MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of preparing weekly.
