Job Description

Production Stream Group Leader
Carrickmacross
Full time hours - Evening Shift
Purpose
To optimise manufacturing performance by implementing new and improved standards with a key focus on team member safety, product quality and product optimisation and are aligned with the goals of our business and the expectations of our customers,
Key Responsibilities
Safety is a condition
  • Build a culture of safety amongst the Team Leaders through leading by example and re enforcing positive safety culture and climate within the production stream.
  • Confirm that all processes and tasks have formal risk assessment and corrective actions have been completed as a priority.
  • Embrace "Go for Zero" by promoting positive behaviours, taking hazards spotted during the shift through root cause analysis, problem solving near misses and coaching team leaders on to work safely.
  • Confirm that all team members have the appropriate training to do their required task.
  • Track report and improve safety performance metrics and ensure that team members have a safe working environment.
Production Stream Strategy
Proactively support the creation of the production stream strategic plan which includes the priority areas of continuous improvement focus.
  • Deploy this plan by delivering the key objectives for which you are responsible, maintaining a key focus on the metrics of the area and the delivery of deadlines while addressing the impacts of change on team members.
  • Ensure that each team leaders understands their role in delivering the objectives and make any appropriate adjustments identified as part of the feedback and communication loop.
  • Build a high performing team
  • Lead the Production Stream team and ensure that team members are engaged to create a positive and stable environment in which they can develop and flourish. Promote cross functional involvement to optimise the correct mix of support.
  • Build team capability by training, coaching and by using the OPEX tools, systems, and standards to guide.
  • Focus on priority problem solving activity and ensure that there is clear measurement of performance and alignment with the goals of the organisation. Highlight the successes to build pride and positively motivate.
  • Recruit and select capable team members and induct into our organisation.
  • Manage on-going performance through 1:1s and My Success and encourage regular feedback.
  • Identify and create a pipeline of talent who may be capable of higher performance or career progression.
  • Build trust through the effective use of management tools and processes and encourage team members to speak freely.
  • Manage grievance and disciplinary issues as required with the necessary support from HR.
  • Encourage the team to participate in business improvement activities such as Our Voice, and to get involved in creating solutions to common problems.
  • OPEX Improvement
  • Confirm that your production stream is operating to standard and is audit ready across safety, quality, environmental, manufacture and asset management. Promptly investigate the root cause of any deviations and implement the necessary corrective measures to sustain.
  • Improve process reliability by Identifying gaps in the system where there are missing or inadequate standards and make the necessary corrections to these. This could be in the form of improvements to Work Element Sheets, SOP's, Autonomous Maintenance, Machine Settings, Product and Process Specifications, 5S Standards or other. Coach the team leaders on the application of appropriate OPEX tools.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and gaps in our process to focus our resource on solving the priority problems. Use 8 step problem solving methodology or other OPEX tools to involve team members in continued improvement activity.
Skills/Knowledge
  • Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills in the English language.
  • Experience in a FMCG Industry
  • Understanding of safety, quality, environmental and asset management systems.
  • Experience in Manufacture / Continuous Improvement / OPEX.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to influence
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. The ability to create and implement standards.
  • Natural coaching ability.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools.
