Purpose of the Role
The Site Accountant at Ruskington is a key member of the site leadership team, responsible for all areas of finance on site. This includes managing and developing the finance team, delivering accurate financial reporting, and partnering with operations and commercial teams to influence and drive a profitable business aligned with Pilgrim's vision, method, strategy, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the onsite finance team
- Own all aspects of site financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Produce accurate weekly and monthly P&Ls with commentary and insights
- Complete variance analysis against budget and prior year, identifying key drivers
- Maintain ownership of the site's balance sheet and monthly reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with SOx requirements and internal finance controls
- Deliver daily and weekly KPIs and act on insights
- Support and challenge spend control, including labour and overheads
- Partner with the commercial team on costings, inflation recovery, and pricing models
- Lead budget and forecast processes with clear assumptions and ambitious targets
- Support cost centre owners to understand financial performance and profitability
- Drive improvements in system usage, including SAP
- Manage site CapEx, including financial sign-off, cashflow forecasting, and post-completion audits
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across health & safety, technical processes, and cost efficiency

Essential:
- Experience in a site-based food manufacturing financial role
- Strong commercial acumen and operational finance experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong SAP knowledge
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven experience managing teams
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to deliver change
Qualifications
Qualified Accountant (CIMA preferred)
