This position is working 4 on 4 off 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am at £16.28 per hour. The Transport Planner (GB) will plan, support and coordinate the daily transport movements. This role will primarily be responsible for planning, in a timely manner, transport requirements on a day 1 / day 2 basis, so that the team meets the required agriculture plan, logistics service and cost performance targets. The role will report directly to the Transport Manager and will play a key role in making the Moy Park Logistics planning a “Best in Class” operation.
Responsibilities:
- Adopt and ensure compliance on all aspects of H&S legislation with the target of zero harm.
- Uphold Group and Company image, policies and Values.
- Drive business performance through evaluation of driver analytics.
- Populate and maintain scheduling and tracker systems.
- Using a mix of automated and manual tools undertake transport planning and daily execution/performance tracking feed deliveries to farms.
- Ensure Moy Park and agency driver labour in department is employed efficiently, economically and with fairness of workload and average hours worked.
- Share accurate information with own drivers and service providers to enable effective operations.
- Administer and manage GB operational plan performance, DOT, breakdowns/programme changes and driver issues.
- Identify lane/loads requirements, risk and risk mitigations for own and third party providers.
- Work with internal stakeholders to utilise own fleet and third party to obtain the optimal cost/service balance.
- Capture and maintain delivery point master data, e.g. time windows, road conditions access restrictions.
- Support management of chain of custody/product integrity documentation.
- Support work in execution of “bad weather” contingency planning (UK).
- Report on GB internal and external DOT for Own and Third Party Carriers.
- Work collaboratively with all sites, internal customers and external partners to ensure the business has an efficient and optimised E2E supply chain (covering people, processes & systems).
- Drive customer satisfaction through proactive and collaborative day to day engagement with internal and external stakeholders, such as Mill Operatives.
- Support Administration and KPI reporting duties relevant to the Logistics function, including compilation of live collection driver packs.
Qualifications:
- 2 years+ transport experience in a fast-paced multi-site Own account or 3PL Logistics operation.
- Strong analytical skills, and attention to detail with good knowledge of geographical locations of customer depot.
- Experience in monitoring, tracking and driving Logistical performance through agreed KPI’s.
- Internal and External Customer facing experience, able to react quickly and calmly in delivering practical solutions to operational issues.
- Experienced in the use of IT applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent personal time management and able to work on own initiative.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
