Purpose of the Role
As a Direct Tax Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering value-added financial and tax reporting services to various business units across the group. Reporting to the Direct Tax Lead, you will ensure the accurate and timely provision of financial and tax information to key stakeholders including Senior Managers RTR, Head of Financial Services, and wider teams. This is a dynamic and diverse role suited to a flexible, solutions-oriented professional with strong ERP and IT capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Direct Tax Lead in managing tax declarations and reporting for multiple business units.
- Prepare and submit periodic tax and financial reports to HMRC/Revenue.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to Pilgrim's US.
- Ensure all reporting aligns with group and statutory deadlines.
- Deliver key balance sheet reconciliations and support statutory accounting.
- Assist with SAO administration, Country-by-Country Reporting, and Pillar 2 analysis.
- Support annual corporation tax computations and quarterly instalment payments.
- Collaborate across finance teams to ensure consistency and best practice.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, offering financial and tax expertise.
- Uphold high standards of financial integrity and company values.
- Coach and support junior team members.
Skills & Experience Required
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CTA qualified (or qualified by experience) with minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK corporate tax.
- Experience preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced IT proficiency, especially in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and collaborative approach.
