Pilgrim V8 specialises in the restoration and repair of a wide range of vintage, classic retro and modern classic cars within the American market as well as full retromod builds and bespoke modifications and conversions. We are looking for a classic car Mechanic who is capable of working on this wide range of vehicles. Our premises are in the heart of Sussex, all candidates must possess a drive to succeed, be self‑motivated, strive for perfection and wish to work in an environment where quality comes above all else.
Responsibilities:
- All aspects of mechanical work: engine/chassis/brakes/suspension/interior.
- Vehicle strip and rebuild when completing full restorations, refurbishments and overhaul of mechanical parts for restoration.
- Mechanical/electrical fault diagnosis and repair.
- Aftermarket installation and custom wiring looms.
- Major engine and transmission overhauls/repairs, engine rebuilds and modifications.
Desirable skills:
- Brand experience: Ford/Chevy/Corvette.
- Fault finding with a high level of computer and old‑fashioned diagnostic skills.
- Experience in complete vehicle builds within the Classic Car or Motorsport Industry.
- Experience in engine and transmission rebuild and repair.
- Good organisational skills.
Candidate Expectations:

- Have at least 5 years’ experience in the Motor Industry.
