Pilgrim V8 specialise in the restoration and repair of a wide range of vintage, classic retro and modern classic cars within the American market as well as full retromod builds and bespoke modifications and conversions. We are looking for a classic car Mechanic who is capable of working on this wide range of vehicles. Our premises are in the heart of Sussex, all candidates must possess a drive to succeed, be self-motivated, strive for perfection and wish to work in an environment where quality comes above all else.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • All aspects of mechanical work: engine/chassis/brakes/suspension/interior
  • Vehicle strip and rebuild when completing full restorations, refurbishments and overhaul of mechanical parts for restoration
  • Mechanical/electrical fault diagnosis and repair
  • Aftermarket installation and custom wiring looms
  • Major engine and transmission overhauls/repairs, engine rebuilds and modifications

Desirable skills:

  • Brand experience: Ford/Chevy/Corvette
  • Fault finding with a high level of computer and old-fashioned diagnostic skills
  • Experience in complete vehicle builds within the Classic Car or Motorsport Industry
  • Experience in engine and transmission rebuild and repair
  • Good organisational skills

All Candidates are expected to:

  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Strive for perfection
  • Have a strong interest in the Classic Car Industry
  • Work independently to meet strict project deadlines
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in the Motor Industry
  • Have good communication skills
  • Hold a full UK driving license

The position is Monday to Friday.
