Employment Type: Hybrid Role (30 hours per week total)

Compensation & OTE Management (fixed contract): 10–12 hours/week → Expected OTE of £19,500 (£5,200–£6,240 per year guaranteed salary plus commission). Total OTE: £38,000–£44,500, depending on teaching hours delivered and additional opportunities as the timetable expands. Important note: £19,500 is the OTE for the management component. Teaching income (£18,700–£25,000) is freelance/self‑employed and not guaranteed, though you’ll be committing to at least 9 hours per week (with scope to increase to 12).

This is the first location in what will become a multi‑studio Pilates brand, with plans to open more studios over the next few years. As an impactful member of the team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the brand’s growth. Management Responsibilities (approx 10‑12 hours per week):
- Oversee daily studio operations and ensure an exceptional member experience
- Develop and manage the class timetable (26+ classes initially, expanding over time)
- Lead recruitment, training, and management of freelance instructors (initially 3–5)
- Design and implement program offerings and class structures
- Manage member onboarding and deliver regular 1:1 check‑ins
- Coordinate booking systems and studio software
- Maintain equipment and uphold studio standards
- Build and nurture a strong, connected community
- Report on studio performance and support operational systems for future sites
- Drive first‑year goals: create a high‑performing team, establish Bristol’s best Pilates reputation, and build scalable systems
Sales & Relationship Responsibilities (embedded within management time):
- Lead taster sessions and confidently communicate the benefits of reformer Pilates to prospective members
- Convert leads into active memberships through effective follow‑up and strong personal connection
- Develop and manage local marketing, events, and partnerships to drive membership growth
- Implement and maintain lead tracking and conversion systems
- Support and motivate the instructor team to promote memberships and retention
- Work closely with the owner on growth strategy, retention goals, and sales performance targets
Teaching Responsibilities (9‑12 hours per week, freelance at £40/hour):
- Deliver high‑quality reformer Pilates classes on the timetable
- Set the standard for excellence and lead by example
- Provide ongoing mentorship and feedback to instructors
- Lead pre‑opening training and team practice sessions
- Embody our teaching values of care, quality, and personal attention
What We’re Looking For / Essential Requirements:
- Certified Reformer Pilates Instructor
- Confident, engaging teaching style with strong presence and authority
- Experience in leadership or mentoring instructors
- Proven ability to drive sales, conversions, and member retention
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Organised, professional, and proactive
- Commercially minded with a results‑driven approach
- Passionate about Pilates, wellness, and community
- Public liability insurance
- DBS check (can be arranged)
- First Aid certification (training provided if needed)
Preferred:
- Studio management or leadership experience
- Experience with booking systems (Mindbody, Glofox, or similar)
