We’re looking for a hands-onGardener & Groundskeeperto join our small team atPihopa Retreat, a luxury accommodation and events venue in Nelson.
About the Role
This is a contractor or seasonal fixed-term position, perfect for someone who enjoys outdoor work and wants to be part of a supportive team in a beautiful setting.
As Gardener, you’ll be responsible for the care and upkeep of our stunning grounds, including:
- Day-to-day maintenance of lawns, borders, flower beds, hedges, and trees
- Planting, pruning, weeding, mowing, watering, and pest management
- Seasonal planting and propagation
- Keeping outdoor areas tidy and guest-ready
- Supporting the team with property and event preparation when required
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in gardening, landscaping, or groundskeeping
- Knowledgeable about plants, soils, and seasonal care
- Practical and confident using garden tools and machinery safely
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Flexible and willing to help across the property when needed
- Has handyman skills to help maintain the property
- Able to work outdoors in wet weather
