Asset Progress Assessment Team - Civil Infrastructure Programme (Site-Based - Travel Required) Initial 6 Week Engagement - immediate starts.

Pigment Consulting is supporting a major national infrastructure programme requiring rapid, independent validation of construction progress across a large and complex asset base. With delivery timelines tightening, there is a need for a high-calibre independent assessment to provide an objective view of progress, quality, and delivery against plan across a large number of assets.

We are mobilising a multi-level civil engineering team to undertake on-site asset inspections and progress validation across multiple locations. You will form part of a specialist Asset Progress Assessment Team, conducting structured site-based reviews of construction works. Working alongside construction assurance teams, you will:

  • Assess construction progress across civil infrastructure assets
  • Validate and challenge contractor reported progress
  • Determine quality and completeness of works against defined criteria
  • Undertake site inspections across assets such as bridges, earthworks, culverts, and tunnels
  • Apply engineering judgement alongside structured assessment frameworks
  • Capture findings using standardised reporting tools

Assessments will involve clustered site visits, typically reviewing 30-50 assets per area, supported by existing data, criteria, and (in some cases) drone footage.

We are across multiple grades comprising:

  • Senior Managers - Chartered Civil Engineers / Surveyors
  • Mid-Level Engineers 3-5 years' experience
  • Engineers 1-2 years' experience

All roles will contribute to on-site inspections, assessment, and reporting, with senior oversight ensuring consistency and quality of outputs.

Experience:

  • Background in civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure delivery
  • Experience across assets such as bridges, earthworks, culverts, or similar
  • Familiarity with site-based inspection, assurance, or progress tracking
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-volume environments

For Senior Roles:

  • Chartered status (CEng or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience leading engineering assurance, inspections, or audit activities
  • Strong ability to apply professional judgement in complex site environments

To apply you'll:

  • Have the ability to assess, challenge, and validate construction progress objectively
  • Be comfortable working on-site, outdoors, and across multiple locations
  • Have a strong attention to detail and structured reporting capability
  • Have a collaborative mindset, working alongside assurance and delivery teams
