Data Architect (Defence Operations) | DV-Cleared | Poole, 3 x per week | £800 - £900 a day inside IR35 Pigment is a change and transformation consultancy.
We partner with other consultancies, government departments, and private sector organisations to solve complex change across sectors including Defence and National Security, Central and Local Government, Transport, and Finance.
We are seeking a practical and operationally credible Data Architect who can bridge the gap between operational users and technical delivery.
Our Architect will work directly with targeteers, intelligence staff, mission planners and Digital Warfighters to understand how information is used in real operations, identify where data creates friction, and design practical solutions that improve operational effectiveness.
Our Data Architect will translate operational challenges into usable data models, standards, integration patterns and architectural requirements that enable faster, better-informed decision-making across Maritime Digital Targeting and Warfare (DTW).
Key
Responsibilities: Engage directly with operational users, including targeteers, intelligence personnel, mission planners and Digital Warfighters, to understand mission workflows and information requirements.
Analyse priority mission threads to identify critical data requirements, availability, ownership, quality and accessibility.
Identify data frictions that reduce operational tempo or confidence, including issues relating to trust, interoperability, governance, sharing and exploitation.
Deliver practical, short-term improvements that enable faster and more confident operational decision-making.
Develop and maintain common data models, standards and integration patterns to support Maritime DTW capabilities.
Produce a clear understanding of systems, data sources, ownership and information flows across the operational landscape.
Establish and promote agreed data ownership, governance and standards across stakeholders.
Identify opportunities and define requirements for automation, advanced analytics and AI-enabled capabilities.
Ensure data architecture informs, and is informed by, the wider technical architecture across Maritime Architecture Baseline (MAB), Maritime Future Workforce (MFW) and Digital Targeting
