At Piglet in Bed, we\’re on a mission to become the home of long-lasting, natural comfort. Dreamt up in 2017 from our Founder Jess’ Mother’s garden shed in West Sussex, Piglet in Bed began with a simple idea: the best homes aren’t perfect, they’re personal. What started as a small collection of linen bedding has grown to include new fabrics and unmistakably ‘Piglet’ designs, complemented by our curated selection of sleepwear and homewares. But one thing hasn’t changed: our focus on the incredible team who make Piglet happen. As our team grows, we still like to keep the calendar full of socials, competitions, and chances to see each other. Role: Deputy Store Manager

Location: Bath

Hours: Full time, or part time29 hours a week over 4 days (both to includeSundays)

Salary: FTE £29,500 orpart time equivalent £22,800

What you\’ll be getting up to

Teamwork

  • You’ll be a key member of the Piglet in Bed team, supporting your manager to represent the Bath store within the business.
  • You’ll support with building and developing a passionate team, who in turn will embody the Piglet in Bed values and build their own community in your local area.
  • You’ll support with the wellbeing and safety of your team, and your customers.
  • You’ll communicate regularly with our retail operations team, as well as building relationships with your fellow store managers to provide peer support.
  • You’ll lead by example, ensuring everybody understands targets and performance, and understands their role in success.

Trading

  • You’ll get to know your customers and understand what works and what doesn’t. You\’ll work with the store manager to design and implement new initiatives.
  • You’ll become an expert on our product range, engaging with shoppers to answer queries, give advice and share inspiration. You’ll familiarise yourself with the brand story and deliver consistently on brand guidelines.
  • You’ll think innovatively, and be unafraid to bring new ideas to the table, encouraging others to do the same.
  • You’ll be able to step in and oversee reporting when required, and liaise with the HQ team if you foresee any issues or opportunities.
  • You’ll immerse yourself in the local community, ensuring our space becomes much more than just a shop.

  • You’ll be part of a small team still in the relatively-early days of our retail journey, so you’ll really have the ability to make your mark, and grow within the company.
  • Your store will have budget for regular social events (and we don’t just mean a pint after work – so far we’ve done yoga, pottery making and hiking to name a few!). You’ll also be invited to socials with the whole team, with travel and accommodation included.
  • You’ll receive 50% discount on our products, alongside extra gifts on your birthday and anniversaries.
  • A quarterly bonus scheme, subject to your store meeting their targets.
  • You’ll get access to our high street voucher discount platform, as well as our wellbeing platform, where you can earn up to £30/month in vouchers for participating in wellbeing activities.
  • You’ll be eligible for life assurance at 1x salary.
  • You’ll get 33 days holiday per year (pro rata if applicable), with minimal restrictions on when you can use it (and we’ll make sure everyone gets a fair break at Christmas!)
  • We’ll train you as a mental health first aider, to help you be the best leader you can possibly be.
