You Will

As a Production Technician 1, you will be expected to perform the following duties:o Daily animal husbandry tasks in support of breeding and scientific research including:o Pig placemento Pig healthcare and medication, including basic veterinary procedureso Feeding managemento Environment, water, and ventilation managemento Off Testingo Collection of blood sampleso Production records keepingo Maintain accurate and timely production information and records as required by the supervising agricultural sciences professionalso Assist in moving animals and maintaining efficient animal flowso Complete all tasks pertaining to farrowing, including fostering, weaning, and processing litterso Treat sick animals with a variety of pharmaceuticals by injection, oral application, and/or other methods as requiredo Maintain facility biosecurity, including sanitizing and washing multiple areas using high pressure equipment, as well as office cleanliness and laundry duties to avoid contamination or animals and research sampleso Flexibility with a willingness to change plans according to the direction of farm leadershipo Adhere to the Company’s animal care policies and procedures including: providing a physical environment that meets the animal’s needs, providing access to adequate water and high quality feed, providing humane treatment of the animals, providing identification and appropriate treatment of animals in need of health care and following the guidelines for euthanasiao Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and how it applies to their specific worksiteo Abide by all company policies, procedures and guidelines as directed by farm leadership, including but not limited to: o The Company’s Safety Program, understanding all safety requirements of the job and performing the job in compliance with those safety requirementso The Company’s bio-security protocolso All environmental laws and procedures as well as report all environmental issues immediately to supervisoro Work as a team player by accomplishing daily department work requirements and farm goals
