Role Overview
You will be responsible for selling the PIC value proposition, identifying new commercial opportunities, driving business growth, and delivering profitability in the assigned accounts and areas.
You will have an advisory mindset and want to build meaningful relationships with your key accounts.
You will also develop new and existing markets through distribution partners to achieve strong market share growth, particularly in Eastern Europe.
Ideally, you\’ll be located in the Yorkshire area with the ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
You Will
- Support the Commercial Director in the development of the strategic initiatives to deliver profit targets and customer goals.
- Develop the indirect business by identifying suitable business opportunities within the customer base and negotiate appropriate contractual agreements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts to increase revenue and profit.
- Prepare and manage the budget and forecasts for the area of responsibility.
- Negotiate, sustain, and renew customer contracts.
- Communicate the value proposition to key industry contacts.
- Work with key accounts to influence, develop, and implement improved ways of realizing the full genetic improvement.
- Develop strong internal relationships with Marketing, Supply Chain, Technical Services, Genetic Services, and Finance to ensure the success of the European and the UK & Ireland Business and the delivery of the strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Educated to degree standard, ideally in Agriculture or Animal sciences.
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably as a Key Account Manager.
- Experience in porcine genetics or pork production with knowledge of the industry and marketplace.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Innovative, highly self-motivated with the ability to respond to changing demands are key requirements for success in this role.
- Excellent IT skills – Microsoft Office proficient including Excel (you\’re a bit of a numbers person).
