Role Overview

We are looking for a Global Head of Cybersecurity to lead the company\’s cyber security strategy and governance.

You will play a critical role in shaping and implementing best practices in security architecture, governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC), while supporting IT teams in embedding security into all aspects of their work.

Reporting to the CIO, you will lead a small team, provide strategic security direction and hands-on guidance to ensure robust cyber security management across the organisation.

This role is remote first with at least monthly meetings at either of our Stapeley or Basingstoke offices.

You Will

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Security Policies: Establish and enforce policies and procedures to protect the organisation’s digital assets and systems.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Identify, assess, and mitigate cyber security risks, ensuring alignment with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Security Governance: Define and implement cyber security governance frameworks, ensuring security considerations are integrated into business processes and IT operations.
  • Security Architecture & Best Practices: Design and advocate for secure IT architectures, ensuring adherence to security best practices across all technology implementations.
  • Embedding Security in IT Operations: Partner with IT teams to integrate security into operational processes, software development, and infrastructure management.
  • Cybersecurity Awareness & Training: Promote a culture of security awareness through training programmes and stakeholder engagement.
  • Identity and Access Management: Support the development of robust access control policies to safeguard sensitive data and systems.
  • Board & Executive Reporting: Provide clear and actionable insights on cyber security performance, risks, and strategy to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced cyber security professional with deep technical expertise and strategic leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in cyber security with a strong track record in governance, risk management, compliance, and security architecture.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred). Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) or demonstrable equivalent knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of security architectures, frameworks, and regulatory requirements in a complex, global organisation.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to engage and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical security concepts into business terms and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Experience guiding IT teams in embedding security best practices within operational processes.
