Finance Director (FD) / Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Pierian.co is a rapidly growing technology company with a focus on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence software (AI, data analytics, cloud computing) with clients including Vodafone Group plc, Sky Comcast, The AA, Vodacom South Africa and Pernod Ricard SPA. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to join our team and drive our financial growth and expansion as we diversify our offerings and enter new markets.
Who you are
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for all aspects of the company's financial operations. This role will play a critical role in shaping Pierian's financial strategy, leading fundraising efforts, and overseeing the company's global expansion, particularly into North America, and diversification into the banking and wealth management domain.
Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the company's long-term vision and goals.
- Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
- Monitor and analyze key financial metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
- Lead the company's fundraising efforts, including raising capital from venture capital and private equity investors.
Investor Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and present investor presentations, financial reports, and other materials.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and events.
Global Expansion:
- Lead the financial planning and management of international expansion initiatives, specifically into North America.
- Support the creation of international subsidiaries and branch offices.
- Manage foreign exchange risk and compliance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful global operations.
Banking and Wealth Management Diversification:
- Develop and execute a strategy to diversify the company's offerings into the banking and wealth management sectors.
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets or partnerships.
- Lead the integration of new businesses and assets.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Build and lead a high-performance finance team.
- Mentor and develop team members.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in financial management and leadership roles, preferably in the technology industry.
- Proven track record in raising capital from venture capital and private equity investors.
- Experience in leading global expansion initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the banking and wealth management sectors.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- CFA or CPA designation.
- Fluency in a second language.
