Ideally, you are a GP that values teamwork, patient continuity and innovation. We are looking for a GP to join our team. We are lucky to have two of the newest buildings in the area to work in, thus making our working environment a very modern one. Our second building was opened in January just this year. We are proud to be one of the largest practices with over 25,000 patients and growing, with a wide spread of patient demographics.

Main duties of the job

As a salaried GP, you will hold a personal list of patients, to enable the best possible continuity of relationships. We support you with the availability of a Personal Assistant, an excellent Nursing Team, including Mental Health provision, First Contact Physios and Pharmacists.

About us

We are aware that being a larger organisation can present teamwork challenges and are therefore focused on staff wellbeing to ensure we operate as one team. We take time out for coffee breaks every day and hold two clinical meetings per week, to encourage our clinicians to collaborate and support each other. We have a social committee, with funds allocated and we have a wellbeing committee, also with dedicated funds to make improvements to our working environment. With this population size we are able to offer GPs choice of specialist interests and we allocate a personal assistant to each GP to minimise the administrative work and focus on looking after the patients. The clinical team currently consists of GPs, ANPs, Nurse Prescribers, Practice Nurses, Mental Health Nurse, Mental Health Support Workers, HCAs, Pharmacists and Physiotherapists. We are also very keen on teaching: We have a couple of GP Fellows, a GP trainer, GP Teachers looking after 3rd, 4th and 5th Medical Students from the local University. Our core values are centred around Continuity as we believe that to be the cornerstone of Primary Care. We support Continuity every day with our values: Respect, Teamwork and Confidentiality. We are focussing on the NHS 10 Year Plan and the idea of Neighbourhoods and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, as we work towards single and multiple provider contracts.

Job responsibilities

The post-holder will manage a patient caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients. Responsibilities will reflect requirements of the NHS GP Contracts, and as such may be subject to change as services adapt. You will be required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the diverse practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract and GMC standards for good medical practice.
