Fancy joining the Pier Architects team? Based in Gloucester | Office-based | £40k–£50k dependent on experience.
We’re growing! Pier Architects are looking for someone talented, technically minded and genuinely interested in how buildings come together to join our team in Gloucester. We’re not looking for a particular job title, we’re looking for the right person. Someone with around 5+ years’ experience in practice, who understands design, enjoys solving problems and can confidently take projects from the early ideas stage through to construction and completion.
You’ll be joining a small, friendly team working on a variety of exciting projects across the commercial and automotive sectors. No two projects are the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to get involved across all stages of the process, from developing concepts, producing technical information, coordinating with consultants, visiting sites and working directly with clients.
We’re looking for someone who can balance creativity with technical knowledge. Someone who enjoys designing, but also knows that the details matter and understands that great buildings don’t just happen on a computer screen.
You’ll probably be a good fit if you:
- Have 5+ years’ experience working in architectural practice
- Are confident working across RIBA Work Stages 1–6
- Have strong technical knowledge and understand construction detailing
- Can produce high-quality information using Revit
- Are comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite
- Enjoy coming up with design solutions but also understand how they get built
- Are organised, proactive and happy taking ownership of your work
- Like working collaboratively and sharing ideas with a team
Experience with Contract Administration, JCT contracts and site delivery would be a bonus, but it’s not essential.
A little bit about us: Pier Architects is a growing architectural practice based in Gloucester. We specialise in creating practical, considered architecture that works for our clients, particularly within the automotive and commercial sectors. We’re a close-knit team who believe good work comes from good collaboration. We take our projects seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We like people who ask questions, share ideas and want to be involved. We’re not interested in hierarchy or making people fit into a mould, we want everyone in the team to have an impact.
What’s in it for you?
- A varied workload with interesting projects
- The chance to take ownership and make a real contribution
- A friendly, supportive studio environment
- Competitive salary (£40k–£50k depending on experience)
- A Gloucester-based office where we work together as a team
- A proper two-week Christmas shutdown (because everyone needs time to switch off!)
If you’re looking for somewhere you can do great work, be part of a growing practice and enjoy the people you work with, we’d love to hear from you. Send your CV and portfolio to hello@pierarchitects.co.uk
