COVE Animal Health is a rapidly growing network of veterinary hospitals backed by a commitment to high-quality medicine, strong operations, and thoughtful growth. As we continue to expand through acquisitions, de novo hospitals, relocations, and system implementations, we’re building scalable, repeatable integration processes that set our hospitals up for long-term success. This role is critical to making that happen.

About the role

The Director of Field Integrations is a hands‑on, highly organized leader responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing hospital integrations across the COVE network. This includes acquisitions, de novos, relocations, expansions, and new systems implementations. You’ll own the integration process from diligence and pre‑opening through post‑integration success, ensuring hospitals are operationally ready, compliant, and supported during their first 90 days. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams and hospital leadership to deliver smooth transitions and scalable integration playbooks that support continued growth.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify operational, compliance, staffing, and systems risks for acquisitions and de novos.
  • Own resolution plans for readiness or integration issues identified during diligence or construction phases.
  • Track readiness milestones, red flags, and timelines to ensure smooth handoff to Operations.
  • Escalate risks, delays, and go/no‑go concerns to executive leadership.
  • Serve as project coordinator for de novo hospitals from approval through grand opening.
  • Partner with Real Estate, Construction, Operations, IT, HR, Marketing, and Procurement to ensure task completion and dependency management.
  • Track and elevate cross‑departmental progress using project management tools.
  • Lead on‑site support during opening week and transition hospitals to steady‑state operations.
  • Oversee hospital onboarding and integration workstreams across all departments.
  • Ensure milestones and deliverables are completed on time and to standard.
  • Proactively identify gaps, elevate risks, and drive accountability.
  • Maintain regular communication with sellers and establish clear reporting cadence.
  • Maintain end‑to‑end responsibility for hospital compliance and licensing requirements.
  • Track facility, pharmacy, radiology, DEA, and other permits through application, renewal, and approval.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements and proactively resolve roadblocks.
  • Coordinate system configuration and vendor onboarding with IT, Procurement, and Operations.
  • Ensure HRIS, payroll, purchasing, and clinical systems are accurately set up prior to go‑live.
  • Monitor and resolve system or vendor issues during integration.
  • Act as project lead for system implementations across new and existing hospitals.
  • Coordinate with vendors, IT, Operations, and hospital leadership.
  • Facilitate training, onboarding, and follow‑up to ensure adoption and confidence.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with internal teams and hospital stakeholders.
  • Track and report task completion and deliverable accuracy.
  • Keep leadership informed of risks, delays, and escalations early.
  • Ensure all documentation, trackers, and deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Identify recurring challenges and recommend scalable process improvements.
  • Build and refine standardized playbooks for integrations, de novos, relocations, expansions, and system implementations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; PMP or similar certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in M&A integration, de novo development, or multi‑site operations.
  • Strong understanding of veterinary hospital workflows, licensing, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross‑functional projects to completion.
  • Experience using Smartsheet or similar project management tools.
  • Highly self‑directed with strong accountability and organization skills.
