Pieminister makes excellent pies. We've been doing it since 2003 — from a single Bristol shop to a B Corp brand you'll now find on supermarket shelves, in our own restaurants, at festivals up and down the country, and on plates everywhere in between. We're proudly independent, proudly Bristolian, a Real Living Wage employer, and we've built a brand with real character and a loyal following. Now we're looking for a Head of Brand to take the reins.

The Role

You’ll own the consumer and bring the brand to life across every touchpoint. You'll set our brand strategy, lead the Marketing team, and make sure Pieminister stays distinctive, premium and a step ahead of the category. It's a senior, hands‑on role with genuine ownership - a seat on the Leadership Team from day one and a direct line to the MD & founders. You'll be shaping the next chapter of the brand and building the team to deliver it. If you thrive on autonomy and real influence, this is an opportunity to make your mark without the constraints of a large corporate machine.

What you’ll own

  • Brand strategy and equity - who we are, what we stand for, and how we show up everywhere
  • Consumer insight - keeping us close to our customers, the category and where the market's heading
  • Brand activation across every touchpoint - digital, retail and in‑store, packaging, media and PR
  • The brand campaign and seasonal calendar - leading everything from high‑impact launch moments to always‑on activity that keeps our audience engaged year‑round
  • Leading and evolving the Marketing team – managing the team and developing their talents
  • Brand stewardship on major partnerships - keeping our standards high on the commercial and foodservice deals that carry the brand
  • Feeding the pipeline – using your insight to shape where innovation goes next

About you

You're a brand‑builder and an operator with a hands‑on approach. You think strategically but you're just as happy getting stuck in and making things happen. You've built brands people genuinely care about, and you’re as confident interpreting data and insights as you are briefing creative work.

Essential

  • 5–8 years in marketing, with at least a Head of Brand (or equivalent) level FMCG / food & drink experience, including grocery
  • A strategic operator with a scale-up mindset
  • Strong on consumer insight, brand-building and brand activation
  • A track record from a genuinely brand‑led business
  • A confident people manager who can lead, develop and build an effective team
  • Data‑driven, comfortable with category data and performance measurement

Desirable

  • Out-of‑home / foodservice channel experience
  • B Corp or purpose‑led brand experience
  • Innovation / NPD exposure
  • Restaurant or hospitality marketing background

What we offer

  • Salary of £75,000–£85,000 depending on experience, with up to 20% of annual salary in bonuses
  • Quarterly Performance Bonus (up to 10% of salary)
  • Company Long Term Incentive Bonus (up to 10% of salary)
  • Real strategic ownership - direct input into brand and innovation strategy
  • Multi‑channel scope: grocery, foodservice, restaurants, festivals and online
  • Leave your mark by shaping a team and evolving a well‑loved brand over the next five years and beyond
  • Be part of a business with purpose - a B Corp and Real Living Wage employer committed to doing the right thing for people, communities and the planet
  • Invest in your future with company pension contributions
  • Enjoy 29 days of annual leave (including bank holidays), plus an extra day for every year of service up to four additional days
  • Work‑life balance: purchase up to 10 additional days of holiday a year
  • Access confidential wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Programme, including counselling services
  • Make a difference with one paid volunteering day each year
  • Feed your pie passion with all the pies you can eat at cost price
  • Celebrate life's big moments with up to £500 of pie and mash towards your wedding day
  • Travel sustainably through our Cycle to Work scheme
  • Tuck into staff discounts in our restaurants, plus enjoy lunch on us every week for Pie-day Friday
  • Grow your career with ongoing learning, development and progression opportunities in the wonderful world of pie
