The role is full-time over a fixed period. The Picturehouse outdoors season runs from June to September 2025 and will travel to different locations throughout the UK. The Outdoor Cinema Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Picturehouse outdoor cinema season. The primary focus of this role is to uphold all Health and Safety responsibilities and provide an exceptional open-air cinema experience for our guests.
Events are held over summer weekends, with Friday to Sunday being the event days. Monday and Thursday are generally preparation days, and midweek allows for days off. This role requires availability for all events between these dates, with a rest week part way through the season. The Outdoors team consists of an Outdoor Cinema Manager & 3 Outdoor Cinema Coordinators. In this role, you would be responsible for leading a host cinema team at each location.
Before the Event (In conjunction with the Outdoor Cinema Manager)- Assist the Outdoor Cinema Manager with pre-event preparations and liaise with venue management as required
- Attend a mandatory pre-season training event
- Prepare all equipment and ensure all aspects are operational
- Carry out routine maintenance checks
- Provide ad hoc support to Picturehouse's Operations department with logistics and other tasks before and during the season, such as transporting stock/equipment/furniture between cinemas
- Collaborate with the host cinema and local teams to communicate event plans effectively
- Liaise with Marketing & Partnership departments to promote events and fulfill sponsorship requirements
- Coordinate with venue management for event organization
- Liaise with third-party suppliers
- Maximize food and beverage sales to enhance retail spend
- Manage stock control and ordering
- Address customer queries directly to outdoor management
- Set up and monitor ticket sales
- Manage retail transactions at Point of Sale (POS)
- Drive a 3.5t Luton or LWB van to and from event locations
- Load and unload equipment, including manual handling and heavy lifting
- Coordinate event setup and takedown, including box office, cinema screen, F&B counter, and projection
- Operate food & beverage counter and retail equipment
- Operate projection and ancillary equipment
- Serve customers
- Liaise with venue and partner sponsors for activations
- Adhere to Health and Safety legislation
- Act as nominated first aider
- Provide the best possible Picturehouse experience to guests
- Complete post-season decommissioning tasks
- Prepare performance reports on the season activity
- Experience in logistics roles
- Experience working in a cinema or event facilitation
- Administrative skills and knowledge of Google Suite
- Understanding of Square POS system
- High standard of functional responsibilities
- Drive and resilience for operational activities
- Full driving license

Location Based with good access to London. Hackney Picturehouse serves as the base during the season, with attendance required for prep days. The role is remote, with screenings across the UK. Accommodation is provided for out-of-London events.
