About Picture Zero
Picture Zero is a leading provider of sustainability services to the film and television industry. We believe that sustainability and creativity should thrive alongside one another, and that the screen industries can drive transformative action on climate. We exist to make that happen.
The role
As Advisor, you'll lead Picture Zero's sustainability work on film and television productions from the first conversation to the final wrap, with real freedom to shape how it's done. It's a senior, hands-on role that blends industry expertise with relationship-building and practical leadership. You'll be accountable for project outcomes and client relationships, and you'll lead and develop a team of Sustainability Managers and Coordinators. You'll report to one of our Sustainability Directors.
What you'll do
- Lead sustainability delivery on productions end to end, from development through prep, shoot and wrap
- Act as the senior point of contact for clients, delivering on time, on budget and to a high standard
- Build and mentor a team of Sustainability Managers and Coordinators
- Set sustainability goals with clients, oversee carbon footprinting and action plans, and turn data into clear reporting and practical recommendations
- Win over departments, suppliers and crew, driving behaviour and culture change on the ground
- Own the project budget and handle cost reporting within each client's processes
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Significant experience working in film and/or television production
- Strong understanding of production workflows across development, shoot and post-production
- Experience of environmental management, carbon footprinting and reporting on productions
- Experience leading teams and mentoring others, with awareness of budgets and resources
- Familiarity with industry sustainability frameworks and standards, including albert certification
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to brief, influence and build trust
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting and emission factors
- Confident with Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience managing multiple clients and projects at once
- An environmental or sustainability background beyond the screen industries
It's a broad role and we don't expect you to arrive strong in all of it. If you bring real production experience, sustainability knowledge and the drive to lead, we'd love to hear from you.
Working with us
UK-based, home or remote, with travel to production locations as required. Full or part time considered. We're building a diverse team and especially welcome applications from people who are underrepresented in the screen industries and in sustainability. We're happy to make adjustments at any stage of the process.
