What we need you to do – Streamland Media UK are seeking a strategic and diligent Senior Finance Manager to join our UK Finance operation. Our Senior Finance Manager will have valid experience of finance process improvement, financial planning and leadership; looking to have a position with broad responsibility for commercial finance, FP&A and finance process improvement. This senior role will be central to maintaining strong financial control, delivering high quality management information and supporting effective business critical decision.
Month End & Other Finance Duties
- Coordinating month end process for the team.
- Day to day overseeing the Accounts Assistant(s) both AP and AR to ensure the integrity of data and all inputs (acting as a senior support).
- Detailed review of month end journals prepared by the team (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, petty cash & bank recs etc).
- Post journals to the general ledger.
- Preparing timely and accurate reporting on a periodic and ad hoc basis (including but not limited to: TR Reports, Monthly management accounts, P&L analysis, Payroll monthly analysis amongst others).
- Review of balance sheet reconciliations following up on errors and omissions with preparer; with final submitted into Floqast.
- Assist with preparation of UK annual statutory reporting.
- Act as lead in the preparation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC.
- Assist with mandatory ONS surveys for the business.
- Reviewing Payroll Manager’s preparation of payroll, preparing payment file and submitting Payroll into bank for payday.
- Assist with ensuring the data in SAP is reliable, accurate and up to date, providing input to system and process setup and improvements as part of the ongoing development.
Revenue to Receivable
- Support with the management of credit control and the debtor’s ledger.
- Monthly revenue tracker and analysis where needed.
- Raising intercompany invoices and keeping track of balances.
- Assisting the team with any queries that occur.
Purchase to Payable
- Work with the AP team to review new supplier, supplier changes and supplier code of conduct forms are in keeping with the process.
- Working with accounts payable on payment runs and verifying all data entered into bank prior to payment.
Business Partnering
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with operational teams and manage all finance initiatives; this includes working closely with the business MDs for all P&Ls in Streamland Media UK brands to deliver solutions to everyday finance related matters and encouraging the business units to keep records up to date in the operating system.
- Assisting with input into regular P&L and cashflow reforecasts and the annual budget process.
- Working with wider US finance team, providing regular reporting.
- Working with the UK COO to analyse and provide commentary on business activities, month-end results, and budgets.
- Monitor the financial performance of the various P&Ls and report progress on all key financial metrics and business initiatives, providing regular updates to the Finance Director.
- Support the UK COO with access to data for any analysis requirements.
- Pre-month end reviewing the revenue for completeness and revenue recognition purposes IFRS 15.
- Post month end, presenting the management accounts to the business MDs and COO with variance to Budget/Forecast and commentary.
- Supporting the UK COO and CFO as required.
- Taking part in Ad hoc projects as required, e.g. systems projects, process improvement workstreams, due diligence, acquisitions.
- Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies.
What Experience we’re looking for
- A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience working in a Finance function for a medium / large enterprise.
- A Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent) with a university degree preferably in accountancy or finance.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills (Prior experience of PowerBi preferred, but not essential) along with experience using ScheduAll or Mediapulse but not compulsory.
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- SAP/SAP By Design system knowledge required.
- Strong finance manager experience, ready to step up into a financial controller position within next six months.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
