Role Overview: The Motion Graphics Designer role sits within the GFX department and is responsible for overseeing the design-led workflows that support PPC’s Creative Production needs for Offline and localisation and versioning pipeline. Working closely with the Offline Department and the Motion GFX team, as well as the Online Editors, Producers, Data IO, and Media Operations, the Creative Production Designers ensure that PPC’s automated systems are fully aligned with GFX requirements, creative standards, and wider production workflows.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and reviewing incoming creative production briefs and workflow
- Managing all incoming jobs via the GFX Creative email group
- Conducting creative discussions with the creative producer, creative director and offline editor for each job
- Assessing and assigning the most suitable designer for each job based on availability and project type
- Informing GFX Scheduling of assigned resources to maintain accurate Smartsheet scheduling
- Producing multiple pre-production original styles for each job for review and discussion with creative production and offline editors
- Iterating on creative ideas based on feedback from the creative producer and creative director to meet V1 deadline requirements
- Continuing to iterate designs based on client feedback while collaborating with the creative producer and editor to meet final delivery deadlines
- Preparing project collections and TXLS files once final approval is granted, and projects are ready for mastering
- Coordinating with creative production to ensure deadlines are aligned and consistently met
- Advising creative production on GFX team capacity for upcoming projects
- Attending weekly creative meetings with senior offline creative team and creative production to review current and upcoming work
- Liaising with GFX Scheduling when additional resources are required
- Conducting brainstorming sessions, creative discussions, reviews and debriefs with the creative producer, creative director and offline editor
- Holding independent discussions and reviews with offline editors to align edit and GFX direction
- Managing the creation of original graphics for large-scale campaigns, including multi-spot and multi-ratio deliverables for international use
- Ensuring projects are properly structured, organised, and packaged for handover to internationalisation teams
- Supporting localisation and versioning workflows, including adapting graphics for multiple territories, formats and languages
- Maintaining consistent folder structures and file management across Graphics and server partitions
- Keeping Creative Studio Resources updated with all new projects
- Supporting Print and Digital teams during high workload periods when capacity allows
- Advising Data IO and Flex teams on optimal folder structures for workflow transitions (e.g., Synology to EditShare)
- Advising Data IO on graphic server archiving processes
- Creating GFX in HDR for large-scale screenings where required
- Maintaining and managing creative software, plugins, and additional technical tools for specialised workflow
- Learning and implementing new Flex Alt workflows and ensuring alignment across the GFX team
- Supporting the wider GFX team with manual workflow tasks when workload permits
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in motion graphics, technical motion design, or GFX localisation workflows within film, entertainment, broadcast, or similar environments
- Strong proficiency in After Effects, including animation, compositing, tracking, keying, expressions, templated builds, data-driven graphics, and structured project setups
- Demonstrated experience developing modular, reusable motion graphics systems (e.g., toolkits, templates, automated builds)
- Solid working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications used in GFX pipelines
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator preferred
- Good working knowledge of Cinema 4D, particularly for creating repeatable or template-based 3D elements
- Strong understanding of localisation and versioning workflows, including subtitling logic, multi-territory delivery, and platform requirements
- High level of attention to detail, particularly in quality control of automated outputs, layout accuracy, timing, and brand consistency
- Experience troubleshooting template or expression issues and validating technical behaviour within automated systems
