Are you a SQL Server Developer who enjoys solving complex database challenges and optimising high-volume SQL environments? We're recruiting for an experienced SQL Server Developer to join a growing technical team supporting a mature Azure SQL Database environment. This is a hands-on role where you'll work with a large, established SQL codebase, troubleshoot performance issues, and help deliver reliable database solutions that support a business-critical platform.

Location: SE London (Hybrid)

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain T-SQL stored procedures, functions and complex queries
  • Diagnose and resolve SQL performance issues using execution plans
  • Optimise indexing, query performance, locking and blocking
  • Troubleshoot production database issues across multiple priorities
  • Support controlled database deployments and change management
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of a mature Azure SQL platform

Skills and experience

  • Strong commercial T-SQL development experience
  • Excellent SQL Server performance tuning skills
  • Experience interpreting execution plans
  • Strong understanding of indexing, query optimisation, locking and blocking
  • Good knowledge of SQL Server internals
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Azure SQL Database experience desirable
  • Experience with source control, CI/CD or DevOps practices beneficial
