Portfolio Management Analyst

Are you a data-driven problem solver who loves turning complex needs into smart solutions?

If you enjoy unpicking how processes work, understanding how data flows across systems, and helping lawyers and business teams work more efficiently, this role could be the perfect fit.

The Essentials

  • Role: Portfolio Management Analyst (permanent)
  • Location: Central London (hybrid – just 3 days a week in any office)
  • Salary: £45,000 – £59,000 depending on experience
  • Industry: Top-tier international law firm
  • Team: Sitting within the Portfolio Management function, working closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and senior stakeholders across tech and legal teams

This role is a great stepping stone for someone who’s interested in data, process improvement and stakeholder engagement, but isn’t yet operating at full Business Analyst level.

Why This Could Be a Great Move

  • Broaden your remit – You’ll touch everything from data analysis and process optimisation to supporting the roll-out of cutting-edge tools like Generative AI
  • Plenty of collaboration – Work alongside a supportive and established team of PMs and BAs who’ll help develop your analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
  • No tool-specific pressure – While Azure DevOps would be handy, this role values approach and mindset over ticking specific tech boxes
  • Big-brand credibility – Joining a global law firm with major transformation plans will elevate your CV and open doors internally and externally
  • Flexible and supportive – Strong benefits, a hybrid working policy, and a high-trust culture make this a well-rounded career move

What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day

  • Capture and document user needs by speaking to lawyers, data stewards, and support teams
  • Map and analyse how data moves within the business, then help identify how to improve those flows
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams and product owners to define and deliver efficient solutions
  • Assist in AI-led transformation projects, gaining exposure to the firm’s developing Generative AI capabilities
  • Support testing, implementation and rollout of new tools, ensuring smooth adoption
  • Develop documentation and training materials to support continuous improvement

You’ll be working across the full project lifecycle, but not expected to manage projects or take on senior BA responsibilities, this is a hands-on, high-impact, mid-level analyst role.

The Skills That Will Help You Succeed

  • A natural communicator who can translate between technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders, from IT teams to lawyers and business support staff
  • Curious, proactive and solutions-oriented — someone who likes asking “why?” and “how can we make this better?”
  • Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall approaches and how projects typically run in a professional services environment
  • Confident working with data and process diagrams, and keen to keep learning new technologies (especially around AI and automation)

This is a great opportunity for someone ready to grow in a high-profile, high-performing environment, with lots of support, visibility, and the chance to shape how legal services evolve through technology.
