Pictons is a well-established firm committed to delivering high quality legal services with a client focused approach. We are looking for a proactive and highly organised legal assistant to support our teams.
Role Overview: The successful candidate will support fee earners with a wide range of administrative and client-facing tasks, helping to deliver a high standard of legal services across all aspects of law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and legal support to solicitors and other fee earners.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documentation, including court forms and bundles.
- Manage diaries, book appointments and hearings, and liaise with clients, counsel, courts and other third parties.
- Handle client queries with professionalism and empathy, maintaining excellent client care standards.
- File management including opening and closing files, document filing (electronic and paper), and maintaining accurate records.
- Support with billing and file audits as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policy and procedures.
- Support the team in business development and marketing initiatives.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience as a legal assistant or secretary desirable.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to details.
- Confident in working with case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Understanding of the sensitive nature of family and litigation matters and ability to deal with such matters professionally and compassionately.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
