The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our dynamic team, working across six practices within our Primary Care Network (PCN). This role offers a unique opportunity to rotate across different practices, providing high-quality GP-related activities and contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care. We will consider applications for between 4-8 sessions, with a start date of as soon as possible. This post is a permanent position, subject to continued funding through the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).

Main duties of the job:
  • In person consultations
  • Telephone consultations
  • Visiting patients at home and in nursing homes
  • Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
  • Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
  • Clinical administration

About us: Picton Primary Care Network Ltd consists of 6 GP practices working together across Liverpool, with a patient list of circa 50,000 patients, to improve patient wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. With training practices within our Network, and a PCN focused on the career development of our staff, you will be part of a supportive work environment that always strives for improvement. We have a well-developed, multidisciplinary team including Clinical Pharmacists, Community Paramedics, First Contact Physiotherapists, as well as a Mental Health Team consisting of Advanced Practitioners, Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner, and Mental Health Practitioners.

Job responsibilities:
  • Deliver Direct Patient Care
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate.
  • Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well wider guidance such as that from NICE.
  • Ensure appropriate follow up of patients.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits and learning event analyses and practice meetings.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions avoiding hand-written prescriptions.
  • Prescribe generically whenever appropriately and in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance).
  • Work with and provide support for other members of the primary health care team.
  • Play a lead role in the practice achieving agreed and other key performance indicator targets.
Professional Development:
  • Undertake continual personal and professional development, taking an active part in reviewing and developing the role and responsibilities, and provide evidence of learning activity as required.
  • Adhere to organisational policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safeguarding, lone working, information governance, equality, diversity and inclusion training and health and safety.
Miscellaneous:
  • Establish strong working relationships with GPs and practice teams and work collaboratively with other staff of the multi-disciplinary team, supporting each other, respecting each others views and meeting regularly as a team.
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude and be prepared to carry out other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time within the general character of the post or the level of responsibility of the role, ensuring that work is delivered in a timely and effective manner.
  • Contribute to the wider aims and objectives of the PCN to improve and support primary care.
