We’re looking for a Billing & Trading Specialist who combines an eye for detail with analytical skills and a proactive, business-oriented mindset. You’re passionate about ensuring our financial records match the commercial performance - not just reporting on what happened, but understanding why and what to do next. You bring structure to complex billing processes, commercial data, challenge the status quo, and help build scalable, future-proof billing & trading processes. As part of the Finance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and control of our margin and related financial reporting, mainly focused on the Dutch market. Acting as the link between Finance, Buying, Suppliers, and the Data teams, you’ll safeguard margin accuracy and be the driving factor for further process improvements and automation. You will be reporting to the Country Controller NL and be a key sparring partner to our commercial teams, helping them make smarter and data-driven financial decisions.

Tricks of the trade

  • Financial operations: Monitor the deviations of purchase price, quantities, and other terms of our Buying and act accordingly.
  • Invoice, discount & counterpart management: Oversee off-invoice discounts, counterpart agreements and receivables to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely follow-up.
  • Tax & regulatory compliance: Ensure consumer taxes are correctly configured and support year-end settlements.
  • Financial insights: Analyze financial KPIs and category performance, identify opportunities, and drive financial planning.
  • Financial control & reporting: Support in the periodical closing activities, as well as contributing to the annual audit procedures.
  • Projects: Identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and simplification, and support the ongoing projects to make Finance more scalable.

Your superpowers

  • BSc in Finance, Business Economics, or a related field
  • 1-4 years of experience in an Accounting, Controlling, or a commercial finance role
  • Strong understanding of sales, pricing, and margin analysis
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - comfortable with large data sets
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured approach and accurate execution
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (or Google Sheets); experience with data tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or SQL) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills - able to translate complex financial insights into actionable business advice and convince your stakeholders
  • Fluent in English (Dutch, German, or French is a plus)
