We are looking to appoint a committed Nursery Room Leader to support the care and learning of 2‑ and 3‑year‑olds, working closely with the Nursery Teacher to plan engaging activities and lead a small team. The role involves ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment, while building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting children’s early development, promoting curiosity, independence, and a love of learning through high‑quality provision. You will also contribute to the day‑to‑day organisation of the setting, supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver suitable learning experiences for 2‑ and 3‑year‑olds.
  • Lead and support a small team of nursery staff.
  • Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and meets high‑quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of child development, attendance, and health.
  • Work closely with the Nursery Teacher and other school staff to support kindergarten and primary teams.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions and safeguarding reviews.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers about child progress and any concerns.
  • Support the implementation of UK policy and local regulations around child care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified with a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an early years setting, preferably with 2‑ and 3‑year‑olds.
  • Good knowledge of early years curricular frameworks and child development theories.
  • Demonstrable safeguarding awareness and commitment to child protection policies.

Contract & Working Hours

  • Permanent, part‑time – 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:30 am to 04:00 pm (term time only, 39 weeks per year including TD days).
  • Salary £26,181 to £27,945 per annum for 38.75 hours per week (FTE salary range £29,064 – £31,022). Salary paid in 12 equal installments.
