About this role: Teaching Assistant at Alderbury and West Grimstead Church of England Primary School. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, high-quality Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support our youngest learners, helping them develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. They will work as part of a dedicated, supportive staff team, collaborating closely to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning activities across the day for children aged 4 to 11.
  • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials, classroom set-up, and resource management.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students requiring additional help.
  • Support the development of individual learning plans and record student progress.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment, encouraging kindness, respect and collaboration.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly school environment in accordance with safeguarding policy.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally as a teaching assistant or similar role.
  • Good understanding of early learning principles and child development.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, pupils and the wider school community.
  • Commitment to the school's values of Kindness, Justice and Respect.
  • Approval of standard DBS check (enhanced) and willingness to comply with safeguarding procedures.

  • Fixed-term, part-time position (38 weeks, 5.6 hours per week).
