Teaching Assistant (Part‑time – 15 hours per week)
Location: Windsor Close, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 0QT
Contract: Permanent, Part‑time (38 weeks per year, 15 hours per week). Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:40 am – 11:40 am.
Salary: £25,185 – £25,989 (Full‑time equivalent). Actual salary per year: £8,557 – £8,830.
Job Summary
We are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the curriculum at Queen’s Crescent School. The role involves working closely with the class teacher and staff team to deliver learning activities, reinforce key skills, and support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. The successful candidate will help promote independence, confidence, and a positive attitude to learning, including pupils with SEND and those requiring personal care or specific support.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality, tailored support to individuals and groups of pupils.
- Assist in delivering planned learning activities and reinforcing key skills.
- Support positive behaviour management and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide assistance to pupils with additional needs, including SEND and personal care requirements.
- Build positive relationships with children, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and wider staff to promote pupils’ progress.
Qualifications and Experience
- Patient, calm, and adaptable with excellent communication skills.
- Positive outlook and ability to build supportive relationships.
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
- Facilitated work with pupils with SEND or additional needs is desirable.
