  • Job Summary

We are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the curriculum, ensuring they are engaged in classroom activities and making progress.

The role involves working closely with classroom teachers, assisting with delivered lessons, reinforcing key skills and supporting pupils’ positive behaviour, emotional well‑being and independence.

It may also include support for pupils with SEND and personal care where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality, tailored support to individual pupils and small groups.
  • Assist with the planning, delivery and assessment of learning activities.
  • Reinforce key academic skills and promote independence and confidence.
  • Support positive behaviour management and the emotional well‑being of pupils.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the wider support team to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Assist pupils with additional needs, including SEND, where appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, supportive attitude toward children.
  • Patience, enthusiasm and the ability to build constructive relationships with pupils.
  • Adaptability, a team working mindset and the capacity to work independently when needed.
  • Previous experience in a teaching or support role (e. g., teaching assistant, support worker, or similar) is desirable.
  • Employment Terms

Hours: 26.25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time, excluding term break days).

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 08.55am – 12.15pm plus 01.15pm – 03.10pm.

Salary: £25,185 – £25,989 per annum (FTE). Actual salary: £14,975 – £15,453 per annum.
