We’re currently seeking a Loading Bay Operative to join our team in a critical position that links two of our most vital operations—the Abattoir and Boning Hall. This is more than just a physical role; it’s an essential part of ensuring seamless production and timely delivery of our high-quality products.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely move beef carcasses from the slaughterhouse production line to the Loading Bay chillers, using manual handling techniques, or at times, mechanical equipment.
- Roping and loading of carcasses.
- Hanging carcass quarters.
- Splitting of carcasses (requiring saw and knife skills, training provided).
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the loading bay area.
- Adhere to all health & safety and food safety procedures, including checking carcass temperatures.
- Support the wider production team to meet daily operational targets.
- Load carcasses onto refrigerated vehicles based on customer orders and product specifications (training provided), in line with hygiene and safety standards.
- Opportunity to develop your skills across 4 butchery levels with full training provided.
- Other duties as and when required by the business.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop through the skill levels of the business, with internal training and development.
What You’ll Bring
