This role will be working alongside an active abattoir, during the process of slaughtering and de-boning cattle. We are excited to advertise for Experienced Butchers to join our fast‑paced, expanding company. Purpose Of The Role
Reporting to our Boning Hall Manager, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to earn within 7 levels of butchering, starting from beginners (packing and basic knife skills) to experienced specialist butchers. The potential benefits for these roles vary depending on experience. Candidates that are shortlisted at application stage will be invited for a knife skill test during interview to assess the capability of the employee to decipher skill level and salary.

- Previous experience working within a food manufacturing environment
- Have knife skills
- Have an understanding of quality control and food safety
Desirables
- Specialist knife skills for trimming or de-boning
- Experience of animal carcasses and de-boning and trimming techniques
Responsibilities
- Ensuring product is packed into the correct boxes in line with customer specification
- Gaining specific product knowledge to bag different cuts of meat
- Using OCM machinery to create labels ready for Despatch
- Using the Vakpac machine ensuring product is sealed ready for Despatch
- De-boning carcasses using specialist knife skills, based on customer and company specifications
- Trimming of raw beef meat based on customer specification and internal requirements
- Adhering to health and safety requirements
- Following Quality Assurance processes and procedures
- Quality checking for contamination and customer spec on a daily basis
- Undergoing training and upskilling where required
- Job rotation to ensure product fulfilment on a daily basis
- Other duties as and when required by the business
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop through the skill levels of the business, with internal training and development.
