We’re currently seeking a Loading Bay Operative to join our team in a critical position that links two of our most vital operations—the Abattoir and Boning Hall. This is more than just a physical role; it’s an essential part of ensuring seamless production and timely delivery of our high-quality products.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely move beef carcasses from the slaughterhouse production line to the Loading Bay chillers, using manual handling techniques, or at times, mechanical equipment.
- Roping and loading of carcasses.
- Hanging carcass quarters.
- Splitting of carcasses (requiring saw and knife skills, training provided).
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the loading bay area.
- Adhere to all health & safety and food safety procedures, which will include checking carcass temperatures.
- Support the wider production team to meet daily operational targets.
- Loading carcasses onto refrigerated vehicles, based on customer orders and product specification (training provided), in line with hygiene and safety standards.
- Opportunity to develop your skills across 4 butchery levels with full training provided.
- Other duties as and when required by the business.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop through the skill levels of the business, with internal training and development.
