We are seeking an experienced Vacuum Former Setter Operator to join our clients manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating vacuum forming machinery, changing tooling, carrying out machine adjustments, and producing quality plastic components to customer specification. The role requires strong attention to detail, good mechanical understanding, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
The Vacuum Former Setter Operator is responsible for setting, operating, and monitoring vacuum forming machines to produce quality plastic parts to specification, while meeting production targets, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, start, and operate vacuum forming machines in line with production schedules and customer specifications.
- Change tools, moulds, and fixtures, and carry out trial runs or first-off checks.
- Adjust machine settings, temperatures, timing, and cycle parameters to achieve consistent quality and efficient output.
- Monitor production runs, maintain cycle times, and make process adjustments where needed.
- Inspect formed parts for defects, dimensions, finish, and conformity to specification.
- Trim, de-burr, and finish parts using hand tools or machine tools where required.
- Record production data, scrap, quality issues, and machine downtime accurately.
- Carry out basic troubleshooting and report mechanical faults or maintenance issues.
- Follow all company procedures for quality, housekeeping, and health and safety.
- Previous experience as a vacuum former setter/operator or thermoforming machine operator.
- Good mechanical aptitude and confidence with machine setting and changeovers.
- Ability to read drawings, work instructions, and product specifications.
- Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment for quality checks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to production targets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Reliable, flexible, and safety conscious.
- Practical, hands-on, and methodical.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude to problem solving.

Minimum wage up to £13.22 per hour, depending on experience.
Working Hours48 hours per week (paid breaks). Shift options available: Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 18:00; Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 16:00, Friday: 06:00 - 14:00.
