An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Turner Setter Programmer to join a busy and well-established engineering workshop. You will be machining precision components that travel across the UK and beyond, supporting projects within the oil and gas sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Work from schematic and mechanical GA drawings
  • Set, operate and programme CNC turning machines
  • Write CNC programmes from scratch and troubleshoot issues
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and component availability
  • Machine a variety of materials including aluminium, mild steel, stainless steel, leaded bronze and plastics
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications
  • Follow company policies and maintain a safe working environment in line with health and safety procedures

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a CNC Turner Setter Programmer
  • Strong ability to write programmes from scratch and problem-solve effectively
  • Experience with CNC programming languages and software (Prototrak and Siemens preferred)
  • Familiarity with XYZ machines is advantageous
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ in Mechanical Engineering) beneficial
